Sunday School Begins 8/23

Adult Sunday School “The Mass & Our Life in Christ”

2014-05-15 11.18.49In this series we will reflect on all that the Mass teaches us about our spirituality as those who have been joined through Christ to the Holy Trinity.  The Church has always taught us that one of the best tools of discipleship for the Body of Christ is to reflect upon the liturgy.  Why do we do all that we do and how does it all, when met with the grace of God,  shape our lives?

In the Divine Liturgy of the Orthodox Church we have the opportunity to experience God and be transformed from the encounter in so many ways by all that we see, hear, do, and say.  All of this is by God’s design out of His incredible love for us.

Come and discover how the communion we have with God in the Mass is productive both for our salvation and for the mission of the Church in this present world.

Youth & Children’s Sunday School

From August 23rd through December we will be studying the major events and characters of the Old Testament and teaching how they are fulfilled in the ministry of Jesus Christ through whom God would reconcile the world to Himself.  How is Moses, who was used by God to free the Hebrews from their slavery in Egypt, a type of Christ?  How was the passing through the Red Sea by the people of God a foreshadowing of Christian Baptism?  These are the sort of topics that will be covered in our time together.

Let’s make it a priority for our youth and children to attend these Sunday School classes; for we, as a Parish, are dedicating ourselves to heed the words in Holy Scripture, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22 : 6
