St. Sophia's Woman's Ministry

St. Sophia’s Women’s Ministry is a member of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America. As such, we are dedicated to being a sisterhood serving Christ through serving others.

The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America was founded in 1973 through the vision of His Eminence Metropolitan Philip Saliba as an organization of the Antiochian Archdiocese. Its purpose is to develop a spirit of Christian leadership, awareness, and commitment; to foster a genuine expression of love and service through works of charity; and to instill a sense of fellowship and a deeper understanding of the heritage and traditions of the Orthodox Church.

We welcome all women, whether members of St. Peter Orthodox Church or just visiting, to come and join us at any of our meetings and activities.

The St. Sophia’s Women’s Ministry will meet this Sunday after Sunday School

In this meeting, Kh. Debbie McNary will be instructing the woman on the spiritual discipline of praying the Rosary.  The Rosary is a prayer discipline that focuses us through the Blessed Virgin Mary on the mystery of the Incarnation and all that God has done for us in Christ.  The Rosary is dated back to the 9th Century of the Church before the Great Schism when the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church separated.

All women are welcome to come and enjoy food, fellowship, and spiritual instruction.
